I probably should have waited until I had the rest of my homework done before I listened to this recording! It is so amazing how you can feel your limbs relaxing purely through the power of suggestion. It feels like magic but we really do have the power to control how our bodies feel. Realizing this is so empowering. I will definitely use this again to help me fall asleep faster. I am going to see if my kids will go for listening to this at bedtime, as well!!
I also should have waited till everything else was finished before doing this exercise. I love how this exercise showed us that through the power of suggestion the mind can have control over our bodies. I am not only going to use this as a method to help me sleep but also to help control the pain of carpel tunnel syndrome. When I took the stress management course I would have my twins listen to the relaxation exercises also. They found it was a wonderful way to help them relax.
ReplyDeleteDorothy, I never thought about using the exercise to help me fall asleep. That is a great idea! Trying to get the kids to listen also is a great thought! Great post!
ReplyDeleteDorothy, I agree that it is very interesting how we can control how our body feels and how we can let go of all our stress so easily if we do or listen to the appropriate thing. I just got home from work, and I am tired, stressed, and not in that great of a mood. I listened to this MP3 about ten minutes ago, and it is crazy how I feel now. It really helped me let go of everything that happened and bring me to my inner peace. This was definitely a cool exercise for this week. Great post and good luck with the kiddos trying this out!
